PTO or the Parent Teacher Organization at Sunset School exists to promote cooperation and goodwill within the school community. We coordinate volunteers and run fundraisers to help pay for programs and materials important to our children's education that otherwise would not be funded by the school district.
We are a non-profit organization.

$20 per child to start the year is beneficial to help Teachers pay for supplies in each classroom.

Every student at our school uses workbooks as part of the required curriculum. Kindergarteners will use one workbook; all other grades use two workbooks. These are consumables that are used up through the course of the school year.

Sunset School PTO buys back over $100,000 worth of programs every year. This money historically has been used to purchase computers for the computer lab, P.E. Specialists, Supplement Art and Science Instruction, Tutoring, and new Library books.

If we received an upfront donation to PTO of $150 per student, there would be no need for other fundraising events throughout the year.

This year we're asking $90 per student, which works out to only 50 cents a day. Your donation is fully tax-deductible.

Spell-A-Thon happens in the fall for all grades. 25% of all amounts (or up to a classroom total of $250) raised go towards student council-sponsored events such as special assemblies. The remaining amount goes directly into the classroom in which it was raised. The funds are then distributed to the teacher's accounts and used at their discretion.

Sunset School's Walk-A-Thon is held in the spring. This is 1 of 3 major fundraisers held by PTO. PTO money raised help buy back programs and essential services that we as Parents and Teachers deem important to our children's education.
