On Going Efforts

Our public schools have a shortage of adequate funding at all levels of education K-12. The Livermore Valley Education Foundation is dedicated to restoring and enhancing academic and extracurricular programs within the Livermore Valley School District.

LLEG
Advocacy day
Spring

DATE TBA

Through no fault of its own, Livermore schools receive less money per student than the statewide average. Many neighboring communities with similar demographics receive far more per student than our Livermore students. LLEG is a grass-roots organization formed in March of 2001when parents became aware of the inequity in state funding between school districts

Attendance
Our school district receives funding from the state based upon how many children attend our school each day. Since July 1, 1998, school districts no longer receive funding from the State of California for students who are absent from school. This includes ALL absences, even those related to illness. Livermore schools receive approximately $34 per day only for students who actually attend school. When a student is absent, the district receives no funding for that student. By all means keep your child home if they are ill, but please schedule doctor appointments and vacations for non-school hours.

Parcel Tax
June 1, 2005- June 1 2009
Thanks to the Livermore community for passing a special parcel tax measure which will help address some of the School District's budget shortfall. The tax will run for 5 years.
