PTO or the Parent Teacher Organization at Sunset School exists to promote cooperation and goodwill within the school community. We coordinate volunteers and run fundraisers to help pay for programs and materials important to our children's education that otherwise would not be funded by the school district.
We are a non-profit organization.

Class Donations $20 Per Child

$20 per child to start the year is beneficial to help Teachers pay for supplies in each classroom.

Purchase Workbooks Kindergarten $12.50 Grades 1-5 $25

Every student at our school uses workbooks as part of the required curriculum. Kindergarteners will use one workbook; all other grades use two workbooks. These are consumables that are used up through the course of the school year.

School Agenda Grades 4 and 5 $7

Each 4th and 5th grader will need a school agenda. Purchase price is $7.

Donation to PTO $90 Per Student

Sunset School PTO fundraising dollars supplement the school's budget by paying for the two PE Teachers, the Reading Specialist, the Art Teacher, the Choir Director, an annual Library Grant and the Accelerated Reading Program. Without Parent donations these Teachers and programs will not continue as the school district does not have the funding to cover these costs. Your financial donations to Sunset PTO help our school continue its excellent academic achievements. In other years, this money has been used to purchase computers for the computer lab, P.E. Specialists, Supplement Art and Science Instruction, Tutoring, and new Library books.

If we received an upfront donation to PTO of $150 per student, there would be no need for other fundraising events throughout the year.

This year we're asking $90 per student, which works out to only 50 cents a day. Your donation is fully tax-deductible.

Walk-A-Thon May 15th 2009

Sunset School's Walk-A-Thon is held in the spring. This is one of only four fundraisers held by PTO. PTO money raised helps purchase programs and essential services that we as Parents and Teachers deem important to our children's education. Without Parent donations to our PTO fundraisers, many important programs and Teachers will be eliminated. Our school district simply does not have the funding to cover the costs of all the programs our children deserve and need
